Dancing on our toes and rolling the dice!

Dancing On Our Toes at Pierpont Place

I have to consider myself lucky when looking back on my childhood. My hippie parents were dedicated to getting my sister and I to each and every extracurricular activity we were a part of. My older sister, the daintier of the two of us, was a ballet dancer, while I was more interested in the physically violent sports (watch a women’s water polo match). Regardless, I spent countless hours a week doing homework in the local dance studio and watching my sister pirouette and plié, and I grew to love ballet.

So when the CW Network started filming a new reality series, ‘Breaking Pointe’ here in Salt Lake with our very own Ballet West, I was instantly hooked. While I’ve been catching up on season one, the CW just finished filming the second season and Pierpont Place was thrilled to host their wrap party. In an intimate setting, the film crew sipped on cocktails, snacked on delicious desserts, and reminisced on what a cold winter they had spent away from L.A.

For those of us who have experience working in a non-profit, we know its a tough job, often thankless. So we wanted to say ‘cheers’ to our friends for all the help they give to the terminally ill children of Utah by putting on their 2nd Annual Casino Night Fundraiser.

Guests tested their luck with craps, roulette, and blackjack while bidding for an excellent array of prizes donated by businesses in the community. Through the cheering, hollering, and donations of the generous attendees, 100% of the money raised went to aiding needy children.
