The Christmas Box children get "Christmas in July"

Pierpont Place will open their doors exclusively for the children of the Christmas Box House in order to give the underprivileged children a fun, memorable, carnival called “Christmas in July.”

Pierpont Place, an event venue in downtown Salt Lake City, has organized the carnival and various sponsors including: Desert First Credit Union, Rio Tinto, and DPR Communication. The carnival will consist of games, prizes, art, music, entertainment and food for the children. Subway and Maui Wowi, have donated lunch and slushies, the Utah Blaze mascot, Chief, will make an appearance in conjunction to a magic act performed by Mike Hamilton. The Park View Young Women’s Group of the LDS church will provide carnival games and prizes, a large mural created and outlined by Dan Ramjoué will be painted by the kids and hung at the Christmas Box House, Rainbow the clown will paint faces and create balloon animals, and much more. Additionally, a shopping trip for the kids will be arranged prior to the event granting each child a new pair of shoes of their choice that they will be able to wear to the event.

Pierpont Place has decided to donate our venue and/or services to at least one charitable or non-profit organization each month. The Christmas Box House will be highlighted during the month of July. The Christmas Box House is a non- profit organization which takes custody of children from abusive family situations and assists with the placement of the children into loving homes. The carnival is a chance for the children of The Christmas Box House to live life worry-free for a day. Janice Boes, owner of Pierpont Place agrees with the Christmas Box House moto, “Every child should be allowed to have a Childhood!” The carnival is a way for Pierpont Place and sponsoring partners to grant the children of the Christmas Box House a childhood for a day.
The carnival for the Christmas Box House children will be held on July 31, 2008 from 3:30-6:30 PM at Pierpont Place 163 W Pierpont Ave. For any further information please contact Janice Boes at (801) 598-4444.
