A Tasty Winter Pop-Up Farmers Market

One of my favorite things about Salt Lake City in the summer is the Farmer’s Market every Saturday in Pioneer Park. I hop on my old 1960s Schwinn and cruise on over to with my reusable bags in my backpack and a list of all the veggies and other ingredients I need for the week. People watching at the Farmers Market is top notch as the city’s eclectic come out to perform, barter, and sniff trees (the dogs are my favorite). It is a weekly event that brings the community together and I am always sad when November nears and it’s over for the season.

Well, imagine my excitement when the Downtown Alliance chose our very own Pierpont Place to be the location for the Winter Pop-Up Farmers Market this month! Volunteering our venue and services, Pierpont Place helped to create yet another successful market in Downtown this past Saturday.

The winter storm managed to scare off just a few vendors that were meant to be outside, but inside our space was packed with artisan cheese, soap, meat, organic produce, chocolates, and even flour made from crickets! Premier offered up a selection of delicious morning beverages not commonly seen at the normal Farmers Market including Mimosas, Bloody Marys, and Irish coffees. We certainly enjoyed ourselves as well, getting our street food fix from World Dog who was set up outside and sipping on the tasty orange juice and basil concoction created by our neighbors, Zest.

It was our pleasure to host the Downtown Alliance and we are so happy to be a part of the Downtown Salt Lake community.  If you were at last weekend’s market, we are interested in your feedback. And if visiting our space has inspired you to book your next event with us, please contact one of our amazing event planners to set up a meeting!
